Trump isn’t even in office, yet, and already the stock market has begun soaring with optimism about the possibilities for dramatic growth that Trump’s plan creates. Here are just two examples:
- His infrastructure plans really WILL be shovel ready, and they are going to transform our ailing construction industry. Construction stocks are going up.
- Trump will repatriate the $2-$3 trillion currently stuck overseas, because of high Obama taxes. Much of this money will be used to fund new ventures, bringing jobs jobs jobs!
But, policies like these will do more than create jobs in America. Jobs mean more spendable income. When people spend money, they create more jobs. That’s the engine of growth, and something more: Optimism.
The importance of growing optimism among the people cannot be overstated. Optimism is infectious and will spread throughout the population. More people will get entrepreneurial ideas AND act on them. More jobs will be created, more growth, more optimism, and on and on...
We’ve waited for this for a long time. Our perspective on America, so long a dour one, will change. As this process unfolds, there will be much food for thought. We'll find ourselves wondering how America ever got in such a predicament, in the first place. Was it an organic occurrence, a natural cycle of decline, as we were told so many times, by the Obama administration? Much food for thought.
